The story in the app is an adaptation of the novel "Cerita Horor Kisah Nyata Offli" by the same author. The original work was written in Indonesian and was published in 2007. The novel tells the story of a family in the remote village of Penari, which is surrounded by the forest. The main character is Ranto, the son of the head of the household. Ranto has a friend named Ulfi, who is a writer and an artist. Ulfi wants to make a movie about the family and the village. The main character has to go to the village to make a video for the movie.
